Who writes this
InCannes is written by two people who live on this coast. One came from Paris, where a new concept opens every month and the third one is already tired. He times the service, notices who is left waiting and remembers which places keep their promise in July. She grew up in Aix-en-Provence and reads a room first, how it looks, how it feels, how you are treated. We pay our own way and every affiliate link is declared.

Where Cannes actually eats, three streets back from the Croisette
The best eating on this coast often happens in rooms with no view.
Walk inland from the seafront and the prices change before the street does. The rue Meynadier runs on bread, cheese and cured meat. The market at Forville sets the menu for half the kitchens in town. Neither needs a reservation and neither is trying to impress you.
This is not an argument against the palace dining rooms. We cover those properly and they earn their place. It is a reminder that knowing which is which is the whole point of reading someone who lives here.
